Mission

“The Mission of Mahatma Gandhi Peace Centre, University of Mumbai is to develop ideals of peace, justice, non-violence and equality into realities of today’s society by organizing talks, conference, guest lectures, youth training program in collaboration with other agencies that work towards this larger goal”. 

Objectives:

• To introduce multidisciplinary courses that will add value to the existing educational system. Also increasing public awareness through short term courses.
• To encourage interdisciplinary research in the area of Peace and Conflict.
• To promote insightful debates and deliberations in the area of peace so as to sensitize the society. 
• To recognize ideologies of epoch making thinkers like Gandhiji and understanding their relevance in contemporary issues. 
• To provide inputs to NGO’s and Governmental organizations in peace building initiatives. 
• To create a training cell for students, activists and professionals interested in issues of conflict management.
