OBJECTIVE:
Imparting communication skills in Chinese Mandarin for Level 1. Teaching of basic Chinese Mandarin language to non-native speakers. A minimum of 150 Chinese words will be taught along with basic information on Chinese culture. The learners shall learn to greet and to introduce themselves in Chinese Mandarin, in the Chinese way.

EXAM INFORMATION:
Standard of Passing:  180 marks out of 300
Scheme of examination: 300 marks total:      
100 marks: Listening
100 marks: Reading
100 marks: Writing & Speaking

A minimum of 300 Chinese words will be taught along with some basic information on Chinese culture. The learners shall learn to communicate in the performing of simple and routine tasks and to have an excellent grasp of basic Chinese Mandarin.

DIPLOMA I (HSK 3)

CREDITS: 3

OBJECTIVE:
Imparting communication skills in Chinese Mandarin for Level 3. Teaching of intermediate level of Chinese Mandarin language to those students who have passed Level 2. A minimum of 600 Chinese words will be taught along with some basic information on Chinese culture. Chinese characters will be introduced from this level. The learners shall discuss daily academic and professional lives and manage most communication in Chinese when travelling in China.

Standard of Passing:  240 marks out of 400
Scheme of examination: 400 marks total    
100 marks: Listening
100 marks: Reading
100 marks: Writing

100 marks: Speaking

DIPLOMA II (HSK 4)

CREDITS: 4
DURATION: 120 hours

OBJECTIVE:
Imparting communication skills in Chinese Mandarin for Level 4. Teaching of higher intermediate level of Chinese Mandarin language to those students who have passed Level 3. A minimum of 1200 Chinese words will be taught along with detailed information on Chinese culture. Chinese characters will be increased largely. The learners shall gain ability to discuss on a wide range of topics and the ability to communicate fluently, with native Chinese speakers.

Standard of Passing:  240 marks out of 400
Scheme of examination: 400 marks total

100 marks: Reading
100 marks: Writing

100 marks: Speaking

ADVANCE DIPLOMA I (HSK 5)

CREDITS: 6

DURATION: 170-180 hours

OBJECTIVE:
Imparting communication skills in Chinese Mandarin for Level 5. Teaching of advanced Chinese Mandarin language to those students who have passed Level 4. A minimum of 2500 Chinese words will be taught along with detailed information on Chinese culture. The learners shall be able to read Chinese newspapers and magazines, hold proper conversations, enjoy Chinese films and plays, and give a full-length speech.
